Forest River Campers

Forest River makes many types of vehicles in addition to campers: cargo trailers, boats, buses, commercial vehicles and mobile housing as well.  In addition to their famous line of Flagstaff campers, they also manufacture motor homes, toy haulers, expandable park model trailers as well as other types of models.

In this article I want to focus on three models: the Classic Series, the MAC/LTD Series and the High Wall Series of Forest River Campers.

Forest River Classic Series

First of all, the Classic Series.  Standard features for these Forest River campers include a power lift system, a swing level Galley with storage areas, and a home-style kitchen faucet which also includes an electric water pump and larger and deeper sinks.  In addition, you will also find these models of Forest River campers to include beds with wonderfully soft mattresses, an external gas grill with its own work table, and onboard water filtration system, electric brakes, raised panel doors, and a permanently mounted, three-burner, indoor range with a stove cover.  These Forest River campers also include a dinette area, an LP-gas leak detector, and AM/FM stereo with CD player, and much, much more.

Here are some construction details on the Classic Series of the Forest River campers: An exterior constructed from vacuum-bonded fiberglass, a fiberglass vacuum-bonded radius roof, a one-piece screen door, powder-coated tubular steel frame and a one-piece, under-coated Structurewood floor.  These Forest River campers also come with a 13 inch radial tires, tinted vinyl windows, easy-lube axles and a 2-tone fabric interior.

Forest River MAC/LTD Series

If you decide to purchase the MAC/LTD series of Forest River campers, you will be pleased to learn that some of the standard features on these models are an outside gas grill, battery converter with built-in battery charger, tilted vinyl windows, a fold-over galley with upper and lower storage compartments, an exterior work table, a built-in icebox, and LP-gas leak detector, among other things.

As far as key construction aspects are concerned, the MAC/LTD series of Forest River campers includes a three-stage, double-arm lifter posts, an easy to operate, crank-down stabilizer jacks mechanism (which also includes sand pads), a full-parameter aluminum bed frame, seven-way pigtail wiring, as well as powder-coated rafter poles and bed bows.  These Forest River campers also include a leaf spring axle mechanism, easy-to-lubricate axles, polyethylene wheel wells, a battery box and wiring kit and a swing-level galley with storage container.

Forest River High Wall Series

Turning to the High Wall series of Forest River campers, we find that some of their standard features are 14 inch tires with aluminum wheel rims, easy-to-lubricate wheel wells, completely new exterior graphics, a white interior that is made with "wood look" linoleum, and an AM/FM stereo with CD player.  In addition, these Forest River campers also include a built-in TV outlet that includes hookups for both cable and satellite TV systems, a 3-burner stove with oven, microwave, electric water pump, water purifier, a six-gallon gray-water holding tank, two 20 pound LP-gas bottles, a laminated floor and a one-piece screen door -- talk about amenities!

Additional STANDARD features of the High Wall series are a bunk light with fan, electric brakes, a power lift system, awning, 12 Volt safety switch, and a battery box and wiring kit.  All the appliances found in these Forest River campers are manufactured with/from stainless steel!  In addition, the hot-water package includes such amenities as a water filter, an outside shower unit, a DSI 6-gallon hot water heater,  as well as an on-demand hot water pump.
